Home Theater

Home Theater
home theater?

I hook a turntable up in Aux my question is can I also connect a tape recorder to my cinema home? I want to buy a cassette player for my home theater but I do not want to get my floppy disk. I can plug into a different outlet.

You may have noticed that your turntable connected to the AUX input, you should of have to turn the volume control on your receiver path to match the volume level of other sources hooked up to it. Because the signal coming off a record player is much lower than any other standard source. See if you have a phono input on the receiver and put your son turntable to that instead - it should greatly improve the sound quality. The answer to your question is "Yes!" First, you must determine if you have an entry Emergency / Out of range taken on your receiver. Sometimes, when no imput band or that one is already in use, you can find VCR Parts 2 (or VCR B) / input-output use. Remember however that most receivers require selecting a special button or switch to the TAPE MONITOR entry to be heard, and this setting overrides any other input often you want to hear, which requires a separate button to turn off the tape monitor input. Its confusing, I know, and I was so panicked numerous phone calls over the years from customers who do not know why they could not access other sources, all of a once: it is because the TAPE input was selected, effectively locking them out from any other source until they disconnected the input tape first. Sheesh! What are the brains of the propeller all these years? " Good luck! Thank you for the question. Rod

Blackout Cloth

Blackout Cloth
Has anyone had any luck building a projection screen with blackout cloth? I can not use the walls painted?.

I live in an apartment if painted walls is not an option. I even pick a hardboard or MDF and paint it, but the weight may be too. I seen many people who spread black cloth on a frame with the side opposite the fabric projector. It would be logical to me that rubberside on the back reflect light to the projector and the stuff would be diffuse. I only need a 72 "screen when we are about 7-8 meters. I thought of a manual screen, but I do not want to treat wrinkles or movement. And I try to keep it at least $ 100.

I did not even bother with Blackout cloth. I bought the fabric projection here: www.dazian.com Then I nailed strips of wood about 4 inches wide and 1 / 4 "thick wall. I then stretched the fabric tight and stapled through the cracks. Then I took some photos of wood frame, painted a nice shiny black nailed the picture frame to the wooden slats thus "framing" my screen. Weeder

What should I look for when buying a cheap projector for an entertainment center at home?

Search for a projector for Home Entertainment (TV / Cable, etc.) and trying to decide what to look for a cheap projector.

If you want High Definition, but you do not want to spend the Big Bucks, looking for a 720p-capable unit. 720p is "officially" HD, but this is not the big hype (Not a great old word "hype"?) 1080p, then 720p projectors will be much cheaper and still give you great results, especially If your goal size of the projected image will not be as large (80 inch 16:9 Diagonal size will 720p awesome, by the way). But more specifically your question, if HD is not what you are looking for and you just want a good SD (standard definition) image: 1. Stay away from "data quality "lights. They are always cheaper because they are mainly built for mobile sales PowerPoint presentations off of a laptop itinerant vendor. NO VIDEO! Many people buy these things and then wonder why the movies look so rotten on them. Because they do handful of videos of all time., So: 2. Look for a projector that boasts handling time video as well. Any InFocus 3 years that has the word "theater" in the name of the model will be a good value. Optoma is a series of DLP projectors in the past 4 years and is a good job. With DLP, you want to look at the RPM (revolutions per minute) of the color wheel. As soon as the spec reads a fact sheet, the better image (in terms of motion artifacts, no resolution, obviously) its going to have. Finally (but not "leastly") examine the kind of input it: If its just a XVGA, forget it. If it's just composite video (yellow-coded RCA Input) mention. If it's just composite and s-video ... ummm ... forget. You want the projector at least have some sort of component (Y / Pb / etc) "Red Green Blue" RCA inputs. If she has them, She has also S-Video, too. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

What is the best way to connect an HDTV, DVD recorder and set top box?

Here is what I have to work with: 1. HDTV with an HDMI input 2. Cable box (DVR built in) with an HDMI out 3. Upconverting DVD player / recorder - with HDMI out each other piece of standard inputs and outputs. I want to make sure I have the best HD picture quality with the ability to record Off My DVR to my DVD recorder. What would be the best way to hook this up without having to invest in more equipment? I'm ready to buy necessary cables, but not an AV receiver or "other" type of gadget. Help Help.

You can not save (or reading) high definition of existing DVD on any DVD. So you're best off connecting the DVR to the TV with the HDMI connection. Component Video Used to connect the DVR to DVD recorder and DVD recorder to the TV. You'll always get a good (but not HD) DVD recordings.

The Goo screen is good stuff, but if you want something a little less stable than I'd go with a good cloth screen film from these guys. www.dazian.com The fabric will cost about $ 50 depending on size and then you can build your own. Email me if you need help build the framework. It's simple enough for a good screen box. Weeder
